Shooting - How to Master

HOW TO MASTER THE TECHNIQUE AND SCORE HIGHLY IN THE TEST

DO:

Keep the ball low.

Place your non-kicking foot beside the ball. Keep your head still and head over the ball.

Keep your ankle extended and hit the ball with the laces.

Be sure to make contact through the middle of the ball.

DO:

Aim for the far half of the goal away from the goalkeeper.

For right-footed shots:

Point your left shoulder and left foot at the far half of the goal.

Follow through in the direction of the far corner.

Hit through the middle of the ball.

Keep your head still and down even after the ball has been struck.

DON’T - WRONG:

Miss over the bar.

DON’T stretch to shoot.

DON’T bring your head up to look up.

DON’T make contact underneath the ball.

All these will make the ball rise.

Make sure to keep it low.

DON’T - WRONG:

DON'T miss at the near post.

DON’T point your non-kicking foot at the near post - point it towards the far half of the goal.

DON’T point your left shoulder towards the near post - point it towards the far half of the goal.
